Divisions of Competition

1. Professional Adults Only - Professional Status

One who claims themselves as a Professional, or who registers themselves as a Professional at any shoot, or who competes for a Professional cash prize or Professional award at a tournament. Two styles of competition:

Unlimited - No restriction. Men and Women will compete in separate divisions.

Limited - No release aids.

A Professional may retire from the Professional Division after no less than one year as a Professional shooter. After retiring, this archer may not compete for Championship awards for one full year. Notice of retiring will be posted with the I.F.A.A. Secretary, who will notify each member nation through its I.F.A.A. Committee member. The action of retiring from the Professional Division shall be afforded once only during the archer's competition life.


2. Amateur - Adults, Veterans, Juniors and Cubs.

Every archer registered as a member of an I.F.A.A. affiliated Association will be recognised as an Amateur until such time as they become Professionals under the I.F.A.A. rules.

Adult Men and Women :
Barebow recurve and compound B.B.
Freestyle limited recurve and compound F.S.
Freestyle unlimited F.U.
Bowhunter recurve and compound B.H.
Bowhunter unlimited B.U.
Bowhunter limited B.L.
Longbow L.B.

Veterans Men and Women :
Those archers who are 55 years of age on or before the first day of a Tournament will be given the choice to participate in the Veteran or Adult division (not both). The decision to participate in the Veteran division is not binding on subsequent Tournaments. The choice is always optional. Proof of age will be compulsory. There will be no classes in the Veteran Division and shooting styles are as for Adult Men and Women above. Junior, boys and girls (13 - 16 years of age) :

Freestyle limited recurve and compound F.S.
Freestyle unlimited F.U.
Bowhunter recurve and compound B.H.
Bowhunter unlimited B.U.
Bowhunter limited B.L.
Longbow L.B.

Cubs, boys and girls (under 13 years of age) :
Barebow recurve and compound B.B.
Freestyle limited recurve and compound F.S.
